Natural Body Type
The Natural Body Type, as defined by the Kibbe test, is characterized by a balanced blend of soft and angular features, with a focus on effortless and relaxed beauty. This body type exudes an unstructured, free-flowing energy, often complemented by straight lines and loose silhouettes in styling. As a Natural, your style thrives on simplicity, ease, and a touch of understated elegance. This is my body type. Natural body types are rectangle body shapes for jeans.

Style Guide for the Natural Body Type
The Natural body type is defined by a blend of soft yang, showcasing a balanced yet slightly broad and athletic silhouette with softly angular lines. Naturals often have blunt bone structures (like broad shoulders or straight hips), long limbs, and a relaxed essence. Your style sweet spot lies in effortless, easygoing pieces that feel comfortable, unstructured, and organic while maintaining a polished vibe. Here's how to dress your best:
What to Embrace
Silhouettes:
Relaxed, unstructured fits that follow the body without clinging—think boyfriend blazers, loose trousers, and slouchy knitwear.
Straight or slightly boxy lines with just enough tailoring to create structure, like wide-leg pants, shirt dresses, or relaxed jumpsuits.
Layers work beautifully for Naturals! Try oversized outerwear or longline cardigans for a relaxed yet chic vibe.
Necklines:
Simple and clean necklines such as scoop, crew, or boat necks.
V-necks and open collars complement your athletic build, especially when layered with necklaces.
Avoid overly fussy or intricate details at the neckline—simplicity is key.
Fabrics:
Opt for natural, textured fabrics that move and drape well, like linen, cotton, denim, chambray, or cashmere.
Knits and wovens with subtle textures (like ribbing or slub finishes) enhance your easygoing energy.
Colors and Prints:
Neutral and earthy tones (beige, olive, rust, navy) or soft, washed colors work beautifully.
Large-scale patterns like abstract prints, stripes, or plaids complement your slightly bold structure.
Details:
Emphasize relaxed, organic details like rolled sleeves, patch pockets, or frayed edges.
Understated accessories like leather totes, chunky cuffs, or textured scarves.
Shoes:
Go for comfortable yet chic footwear like loafers, sneakers, flat boots, or espadrilles.
Strappy sandals or low block heels pair well for dressier occasions while staying true to your natural vibe.
What to Avoid
Silhouettes:
Overly tight, body-conscious fits that cling to every curve—these feel restrictive and don't align with your easygoing essence.
Super tailored or structured pieces like fitted blazers or stiff pencil skirts.
Necklines:
Ultra-feminine necklines like sweetheart, halter, or anything with frills or bows. These can feel too dainty or fussy for a Natural.
Overly high necklines, such as extreme turtlenecks, which can create unnecessary bulk.
Fabrics:
Stiff, heavy fabrics like brocade, organza, or taffeta, which don't align with your relaxed style.
Overly shiny or synthetic materials that feel too polished or formal.
Colors and Prints:
Neon or harsh, artificial colors—your look thrives on tones that feel organic and grounded.
Small, intricate prints (like tiny florals or polka dots) can clash with your broader lines.
Details:
Ultra-fussy embellishments like heavy beading, lace, or sequins.
Overly dainty jewelry—opt for bold, chunky, or earthy designs instead.
Shoes:
Sky-high stilettos or extremely delicate shoes, which feel out of sync with your grounded vibe.
Anything too bulky or heavily embellished—opt for clean and minimalist styles.
Quick Style Mantras for Naturals
"Keep It Easygoing": Focus on relaxed fits, natural fabrics, and comfortable silhouettes that highlight your effortless, casual vibe.
"Polished But Not Prissy": Add a touch of tailoring or structure to maintain balance but avoid anything overly stiff or formal.
"Layer It Up": Lean into layered outfits to create depth, texture, and movement, which work beautifully with your broad structure.
Examples for Different Occasions
Everyday Chic: Wide-leg jeans, a relaxed button-down, and a leather belt with loafers. Add a tote bag and some necklaces.
Workwear: A slouchy blazer, a soft knit tank, and tailored trousers paired with loafers or block-heeled mules.
Weekend Casual: A boxy sweater with straight-leg jeans and ankle boots. Throw on an oversized trench or denim jacket for layering.
Evening Wear: A sleek jumpsuit or a maxi dress with minimal draping. Pair with bold earrings and heeled sandals for a relaxed vibe.
Travel Style: Linen trousers, a relaxed tee, and a lightweight jacket. Add slip-on sneakers and a crossbody bag for ultimate comfort.
Easy Elevated Legging Look:
Pair with boots, flats, or your favorite sneakers.
Tip - Thrift an oversized sweater or shirt from the men’s section!
I typically like to balance, meaning I’ll do a fitted pant/jean & more oversized top. Or baggier pants & a fitted top. BUT I do also like oversized on both ends as well.
You’ll figure out your go-to’s as you mess around.
Styling Pants
Pair with kitten heels or heeled boots for an elevated look. Or sneakers/flats for casual chic.
Tip - balance the outfit out with a belt.
Skirts n Such:
Add more elements & texture with belts, tights AND socks, and a fun loud jacket.
If you’re going for a more color-blocked look (ex: all black) - balance it out with a statement bag or earrings.
Tip - I personally do not like midi skirts, just needed to get that off my chest.
